These Apps are Worth a Try

December 12, 2016

I hardly ever download phone apps to my phone as I thought I really don’t need them or I don’t want them on my phone to say the least. Over the last few months, I saw a Viggle commercial on television and I thought that would be interesting to try though I want the app to be downloaded on my husband’s phone. While downloading the app I learned that I could get rewarded while watching television in exchange for various gift cards to choose from or cash.

After a couple of months of racking up my Viggle points I exchanged it for a  Betty Crocker Crockpot to see if this app is truly legit. Days after, I was astound when I saw the package outside our doorstep as I wasn’t really expecting the item would arrive that soon. As I opened the package I was really excited and couldn’t believe I was getting the crockpot for real.

Since then, I have been using Viggle mostly on my favorite shows on television and watch extra ads to get Perk points. Aside from Viggle and Perk, I am also loving Ibotta where you can get rebates while you shop your favorite brands or groceries. Checkout 51 is just like Ibotta where you can get rebates as well. This app is legit as I just cashed out my first transaction weeks ago. I know downloading apps on the app store can be cautious especially when you get the fake ones out there but these apps that I am talking about are worth a try.

Manila Bay Ihaw-Ihaw

November 29, 2016

I was browsing photos from my phone when I realized the photos I took are mostly for my blogs. Though, I have not updated any of my blogs in a long time so these photos are just perfect to share with you. While visiting in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, I made sure to stopped by at the Asian store, Chinatown Food Market. This is the biggest Asian store that I’ve ever been to; but I noticed it is pricier compared the ones we have here in Rogers and Springdale. Buying few groceries from the store like Nata de Coco, Rice Noodles (Pancit Bihon) vegetables are the ones I am looking forward to get like White Long Beans (Sitaw) and Bok Choy (Pechay) as I am going to make Pakbet as soon as we got back home. While on our way back home, we also stopped by at Manila Bay Ihaw-Ihaw, a Filipino Restaurant in Bannister Road, in Kansas City. It was our first time visiting the restaurant so we don’t know how it looks like until we got inside. Well, its nothing fancy to say the least. Few decors hanging on the wall and the ambiance was kind of boring even with open space inside.

Adobo, Pakbet and Sisig

But anyhow, the food was good. We ordered Adodo, Pakbet and Sisig serve with rice on a bamboo platter. And for dessert, I had Halo-Halo to quenched my cravings as I have not eaten Halo-Halo in so many years.

Arturia Beatstep Controller

So you like having sick beats and are in the market for a controller and sequencer, then you really need to check out the arturia beatstep. A true wonder of functionality that can handle step sequence, percussion controller duties and act as an overall general purpose control center. All this functionality is available at a great price and from a well respected provider of great musicianship instruments and accessories.

Copeland's of New Orleans

September 22, 2016

If there’s a restaurant that I could go back to eat in day after day, it  is no doubt Copeland’s of New Orleans. Yup! We just ate at this restaurant for Sunday buffet when my sister’s-in-law, and their cousin Linda, visited for my son’s birthday. Copeland’s of New Orleans has great buffet selections of dishes every Sunday for your family or friends to eat at, while the live band is playing jazz music.

Artichoke and Spinach Dip

Crabcakes and Shrimp Alfredo

Crawfish Fettuccini

Aside from delicious meals, great staff will provide you with excellent service throughout your meal. If you are looking to broaden up your horizon when it comes to different cuisines, cajun spices that you may never have eaten before why not try a taste from Copeland’s of New Orleans?

Meinl Byzance

So you are a drummer and want your own unique and different sound? The meinl byzance hi hat is just one way for you to achieve your own sound. Made by hand in Turkey these hi hats have a unique almost earthy sound. Being unfinished they provide a more natural sound. These are made of pure brass as well and provide just that sound that you will love.

No Christmas Tree This Time

September 13, 2016

With Christmas just around the corner have you ever thought about decorating your house anytime soon? Well, I’ve been thinking about it but with a dog we have around the house who has plenty of energy I don’t think I can put up our Christmas tree this time and for years to come. Just the thought of Christmas tree skirt and ornaments hanging around, Chase (dog) would be ecstatic which one to chew on first. Having a dog running around can be chaos when he keeps on jumping up and down off the couch and my son playing as well. Feels like I need a headset so I can not hear any noise that they are making and the television in the background.

Anyway, I don’t feel like typing this post too long as I have some other chores to finish before I go to bed tonight. My son’s birthday is coming and my sister’s-in-law, are visiting this weekend for his birthday.

Mandolin Guide

If you are interested in getting a mandolin you need to make sure you are well informed. A buyers guide that answers the question, what is a mandolin? Is just what you need. Whether you like country, bluegrass or progressive rock the mandolin is a great addition to your sound and a truly unique instrument. Be sure to check this guide out to learn more.

What I've Beem Up To

July 19, 2016

It has been a long time since I posted my last blog. It is not that I was too busy but sometimes I’d rather not post to all of my websites or social media like Facebook or Twitter. Though I love to share with you what I’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks with my family. Well, we took a trip to Forth Worth, Texas with my sister-in-law, to watch an Indy Car race though it rained out so they cancelled the race and moved it to August. I felt bad though because it was my sister-in-law’s first time to watch an Indy Car race with us but I’m sure she had fun spending time with her nephew.

Going to other places I get to try different foods but we still decided to eat at Rooster’s Roadhouse. This place was totally packed as soon as we entered the door. With delicious foods and servers who had smiles on their faces is a good start to a great meal. We also ate at China Town CafĂ© in Denton, Texas. This restaurant is on our lists to eat at every time we visit in Texas to watch car racing. We also went to Iowa Speedway to watch the Iowa Corn 300 last week.

Rooster's Roadhouse, Double Meat BBQ Plate, Brisket and Sausage

Rooster's Roadhouse, Double Meat BBQ Plate, Brisket and Ham

Rooster's Roadhouse, Queso, Salsa and Chips

It was a fun trip, my sister-in-law came with us to watched the race. The weather was perfect but me growing up in the tropics can not stand the heat, just kidding. We also got to do other fun stuff activities since we got back home like playing putt-putt golf at Golf Mountain. I got a whole-in-one so the guy gave me a free pass that could use when we play again sometime soon. Yesterday, we went to Fast Lane to play bowling. Out of luck, I was outscored by my son who played very well who had a huge smile on his face.

Phone Apps That Are Worth Downloading

May 13, 2016

Women love to brag about beauty products on social media but not me as I don’t have any beauty routine to maintain daily. Though I would love to share some phone apps that are worth downloading for you to have if you don’t have them yet.

Krispy Kreme apps tells you when the hot light is on, which means fresh glazed doughnuts are rolling on the conveyor. You’ll earn rewards points you  exchange free dozen doughnuts or beverages.

Ibotta you’ll earn cash back on groceries, clothing, dining out, specialty, beer, wine and spirits, they feature on their app. I swear this is one of my favorite apps as I already cashed out to make sure this app really works. Ibotta is very easy to use, unlock the featured items that you are going to buy, scan the code to make sure you’re getting the right item. When you are done shopping take a picture of your receipt then a few minutes later you’ll receive an email for what you have earned. You can also submit previous receipts as long as you still have the products to scan the bar codes.

Checkout51 you’ll earn rebates on the products featured on their app with some restrictions apply like coupons as you don’t get any rebates when you use at the store. Still every cents counts and before you know it you could be buying shoes from these savings.

Walmart, you’ll get cash back on groceries if there are lower prices from competitive stores.

Wind Instruments

So my husband's sister played clarinet in band in high school. Ever since then she loves music and playing instruments. Our son is getting closer and closer to being the age to be in band himself. I have already began looking at instruments, including wind instruments he may want to play. I suggest looking at sites online to help you price out instruments, places like wind instrument, are great resources for buying instruments online.

Dodge Challenger

April 25, 2016

Never in my wildest dreams I’ll be owning or driving a car when I was growing up in the Philippines. Just the thought of driving a motorcycle scared the hell out of me so I never tried driving one. But here I am, living  in the United States, driving a BMW X-5 . It is a great car for me to have and drive specially when I was the first car on the stop light which means I get to race the next car beside me. Aside from X-5, my hubby got a Dodge Challenger but I have not yet driven this car since we got it. The fancy navigations and touch screen monitor are quite confusing to me but definitely I’ll be driving this baby sometime soon.

Dodge Challenger
Anyway, I was browsing on my phone when I realized most of the photos I took are for my blogs but I have not posted any of them. These foods may not be mouth-watering for you to you look at but these are delicious to me. My homemade mango popsicle is one of my favorite to make and banana lumpia (turon) to satisfy my cravings. The other photos are restaurant foods like: Copeland’s of New Orleans, Twin Peaks, Monte NE Inn, Maddio’s Pizza to name a few.

Mom's Pot Roast, Twin Peaks

Meat Loaf, Twin Peaks

Cheese Dip, Twin Peaks

Mac N Cheese, Twin Peaks

Home Style Dinner, Monte NE Inn

Shrimp Creole

Shrimp Po-Boy, Copeland's of New Orleans

Hawaiian Style Pizza, Maddio's

Bacon, Sausage & Chicken Pizza, Maddio's

Mango Popsicle
Banana Lumpia

These restaurants have really good food and services just in case you are about to visit Rogers, Arkansas. Copeland’s of New Orleans has the best Sunday Buffet that you could ever want for your meal. Plus, you get to enjoy the live Jazz music playing along while you eat.

Guitar Center's Used Piano

So if you are in the market for a great piano but do not want to drop huge amounts of money on one you can always look for a used piano. The guitar center's used piano selection is quite impressive. There no stigma attached to buying a used piano and you can get great pianos at great prices. So do yourself a favor and look and research what is available on line.

Anderson Cooper

April 24, 2016

It has been a great weekend for me and my family. My son, Charles scored a goal during their soccer game yesterday and their team won the game. He was so happy when he scored a goal and so were Doug and me. Plus the team did a great job during yesterday’s game. Hopefully, their team will be motivated for the next game so they could win the rest of the games this season.

After the game, I went to Walmart to catch a glimpsed of Anderson Cooper during his signing event of The Rainbow Come and Goes. I’m was just curious how he looks like in person compared to what he looks like on AC360. Oh my goodness, he is a very good looking guy. The way he smiles to every person that came for his book signing event was very genuine and heartwarming. How disappointed I am that I did not have the patience to wait in line so I could meet and greet him in person.

Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper

But still, seeing Anderson Cooper only a few steps away was the highlight of my day. Never in my wildest thoughts would I be seeing famous people at Walmart specially here in Rogers, Arkansas. When I saw Ree Drummond, for the first time at Walmart I was so ecstatic. Been a huge fan of her show Pioneer Woman on Food Network as long as I can remember just like Barefoot Contessa, Giada and Italian Cooking.

I also got to meet Michelle Duggar, the matriarch of 19 Kids and Counting, and her daughter Janna doing their grocery shopping. We exchanged hellos and told Michelle I watched your show (before it got cancelled) on TLC. Then I asked her if I could have her picture taken and she was very kind enough to do the favor. Anyway, tomorrow is another day to look forward to; my son, Charles will be getting an award from his school. He doesn’t know about it so this will be a surprise.

ESP Guitar

Wow I just found loads of great high quality esp guitar on a website. My these guitars are so nice and I love the wide variance of designs and colors available for purchase. I especially like the ESP LTD James Hetfield Signature Iron Cross guitar. Being a fan of Metallica as well as the looks of the guitar make me want to buy one for sure.

I Need To Splurged A Little On Myself

February 01, 2016

I was having a bad day yesterday when I tried to open this blog when I noticed the unwanted software was already gone. Thank goodness! As I was about to delete this site and create a new blog even though I just renewed my domain for another year. Oh well, what have you been doing over the last 2 days? Have you enjoyed the warm weather before the cold front gets here? For me, I loved the warm temperatures driving around with my car windows down. Did some shopping, and watched the movie Kung Fu Panda with my family. We all liked it, Charles really did enjoy watching the movie and so did we until we went to Walmart to get our groceries. He wanted a Rubik's Cube but they don’t have any so he was kind of mad. When Charles wants something he wants it right away and it is very irritating. He also hates going shopping and rather be home all the time I understand that but sometimes we have to go somewhere, do some things specially when its just the two of us in the house. I always tell him you are very Iucky, I always take you with me when I go somewhere or buy nice things for you. When we were little our mother would hardly take us whenever she went to the city, unlike Charles which is included in everything we do. Anyway, I can not believe it’s the first day of February already.

Pescado Guerrero, Abuelos

Just weeks ago, I was anticipating my birthday to come and now that it already happened I realized wow I am getting old and forgetful haha. It was such a nice birthday celebration to say the least. I ate at one of my favorite restaurant Abuelos, I order the same food Pescado Guerrero every time we eat there. My complimentary dessert, Flan and most of all I treated myself some shopping at DSW and ordered a Michael Kors handbag which should be arriving in our doorstep anytime soon. The handbag was on sale and additional 20% off which I thought too good to pass up, for once I need to splurged a little on myself.
